All Saints’ Trojans initiated their district football schedule with a significant 36-18 victory over Fort Worth Mercy Culture Prep on Saturday. The game took place at Eagle Stadium in Willow Park, where the Trojans' defensive effort was a central factor in the outcome. This win improves All Saints’ season record to 2-2 and marks a 1-0 start in TAPPS Division IV District 1 competition. Meanwhile, Fort Worth Mercy Culture Prep’s record now stands at 3-1 overall and 0-1 in district play.

The Trojans’ defense demonstrated a robust performance throughout the game. They held the Royals to a notably low total of minus 45 yards rushing, significantly impeding their ground attack. Furthermore, the defense limited Fort Worth Mercy Culture Prep to just 129 total yards of offense. Critically, the All Saints defensive unit did not allow a single offensive touchdown. The 18 points scored by the Royals were attributed to non-offensive plays: a blocked punt that resulted in a touchdown and a separate pick-six.

Several individual players contributed to this strong defensive showing. Defensive back Turc Collins recorded an interception, marking his third of the current season. On the defensive line, Grayson Rozell proved disruptive, logging three sacks against the Royals' offense. Nate Mienk was a key presence, leading the team with seven tackles and also contributing two tackles for loss. Further bolstering the pass rush, Clay Mizer secured two sacks, Tom Tompkins delivered four sacks, and Bryce Goedeke added three sacks.

Offensively, the Trojans showcased a diverse and effective attack. Running back Tate Scully was impactful, carrying the ball five times for a total of 117 yards. Scully also demonstrated versatility in the receiving game, catching one pass for 57 yards, which resulted in a touchdown. Sawyer Buske contributed significantly with nine carries for 59 yards and a rushing touchdown, complemented by four receptions that gained 73 yards. Quarterback Peetey Erskine maintained a perfect passing record for the game, completing all four of his attempts for 102 yards and throwing one touchdown pass. Erskine also added to the ground offense, rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown on 11 attempts.

Looking ahead, All Saints will now contend for the Loop 323 Trophy in their upcoming game. The Trojans are scheduled to host rival Bishop Gorman this Saturday at 11 a.m. Bishop Gorman enters the contest with an overall season record of 1-3 and an 0-1 district record. The game will be played at Mewbourne Field, located on the All Saints campus.
