Bullard, TX — The Bullard tennis team has advanced to the regional semifinals for the first time in program history, following an 11-5 victory over Van on Monday. The decisive win positions Bullard to face Kaufman on Thursday at the Arlington Tennis Center.
Bullard secured four points in girls singles matches. Logan Wilson triumphed over Bella Ward with scores of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-2. Kinsley Howard added another win, defeating Alice Williams 6-1, 6-2. Madeline Morgan secured a victory against Hadley Miller with scores of 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4. Samantha Pipkin also contributed a point, defeating Madison Kauffman 6-0, 6-1. Van’s Lillie Ayers won one girls singles match, defeating London Ruark 6-4, 7-5.
In girls doubles, Bullard swept all three matches, adding three more points to their total. Logan Wilson and Kinsley Howard defeated Lillie Ayers and Hadley Miller 6-0, 6-2. London Ruark and Madeline Morgan secured a win against Alice Williams and Brielle Pedraza with scores of 6-4, 6-0. Hannah Morgan and Elly Delgado-Charles rounded out the sweep, defeating Madison Kauffman and Amelia Feagan 6-1, 6-4.
Bullard also claimed three victories in boys singles matches. Charles Gugar defeated Ross Reynolds with a score of 6-3, 1-6, decided by a 10-7 tie-breaker. Ryder Nelson also contributed a win, overcoming Allen Strickland 4-6, 6-3, with a 12-10 tie-breaker. Ryan Roberts secured another point for Bullard in boys singles, defeating Bradley White 4-6, 6-1, with a 10-6 tie-breaker. Van’s only victory in boys singles came from Tony Aceves, who defeated Jackson Bamert 3-6, 7-6, decided by an 11-9 tie-breaker.
Van claimed two of the three boys doubles matches. Allen Strickland and Ross Reynolds defeated Charles Gugar and Ryder Nelson in a close contest, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, with a 12-10 tie-breaker. Tony Aceves and Zane Parker added another boys doubles win for Van, defeating Davis Dunlap and Nicklaus Roach 7-5, 6-0. Bullard's single point in boys doubles came from Ryan Roberts and Sloan Smith, who defeated Austin Dunlap and Kadin Hayely 6-0, 3-6, with an 11-9 tie-breaker.
In mixed doubles, Van secured the only match. Bradley White and Bella Ward defeated Samantha Pipkin and Jackson Bamert with scores of 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).
The historic advancement to the regional semifinals marks a significant achievement for the Bullard tennis program. Their next challenge will be against Kaufman on Thursday at the Arlington Tennis Center. In the other regional semifinal, Lindale will compete against Wills Point.
