Bullard’s Kalia Andres has earned weekly volleyball player honors for matches played from Sept. 28 to Oct. 3. Andres contributed 45 kills, 18 digs, three blocks, and three aces in victories over Center and Madisonville during the week. Her hitting percentage was .515 against Center and .333 against Madisonville.

Additional East Texas volleyball players were recognized for their outstanding contributions during the same period, based on nominations from their coaches.

Tyler Legacy’s Haley Herndon recorded 28 kills, four assists, and three blocks in wins against Longview and Forney. Tyler junior Amiya Alexander achieved 10 aces, 15 kills, 20 digs, four blocks, and three assists.

Lindale players demonstrated a strong collective performance in their victories over Canton and Brownsboro. Ella Hutchens tallied 24 kills, five digs, and one block. Jordyn Weesner added 12 kills, four blocks, and five digs. Emory Schmidt contributed 28 assists, two aces, nine digs, and two kills. Kaid Smith was credited with 37 assists, 11 digs, and one kill. Brooke Gissell posted 16 kills, seven blocks, three digs, and two aces. Carsyn Collinsworth had 13 kills, five digs, and one block, while Libbie McHam made 15 digs and one ace.

From other area teams, Canton senior Addison Capps delivered 33 kills, 27 digs, and two blocks. Arp sophomore Bailey Graham registered nine kills, three digs, and one block, achieving a .300 hitting average. Alba-Golden saw strong performances from Averi Stevenson, who had eight aces, 10 kills, and nine digs. Teammate Sadie Wright contributed seven kills and 11 digs, and Jayla Sitar added two aces, two kills, 11 assists, and five digs.

The Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) rankings released for the week highlight several East Texas teams among the state's top contenders. In Class 4A, Lindale holds the No. 2 spot, with Caddo Mills ranking No. 10. Paris North Lamar is listed at No. 22, and Paris is No. 25.

In Class 3A, Tatum is positioned at No. 2, with Eustace following at No. 5. Central Heights holds the No. 13 spot, Hooks is No. 19, and Palestine Westwood is ranked No. 25.

For Class 2A teams, Maud is No. 6, and Overton ranks No. 8. Detroit is listed at No. 10, Beckville at No. 11, Como-Pickton at No. 16, and Garrison at No. 25.

These individual and team performances contribute to the ongoing competitive volleyball season across East Texas schools.
