A Lindale woman has been charged with a felony count for allegedly allowing a child to be sexually assaulted by a former Tyler doctor in exchange for prescription drugs. Alicia Evonne Sanchez, 37, also known as Alicia Seguin, was booked into the Smith County Jail on Wednesday on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a young child. She remains jailed on a $3 million bond.

The allegations, detailed in an arrest warrant affidavit, stem from multiple incidents of ongoing child sex abuse that reportedly occurred from 2019 to 2023 at a former doctor’s office in Tyler. Authorities allege Sanchez acted in concert with Kenneth Haygood, 57, a former Tyler doctor who has since been sentenced to prison for sex crimes against other victims.

The affidavit states Sanchez regularly took the child to Haygood’s office, where the child was allegedly forced to undress as Haygood watched, then lie on an exam table to be assaulted by him. Investigators believe Sanchez allowed Haygood to sexually assault the child on numerous occasions over a five-year period, providing the child for abuse so she could receive prescription drugs, such as Adderall, in return.

Records documented at least 10 visits described as “exams” during which the child was assaulted while Sanchez was present in the room. The affidavit indicates the abuse is believed to have occurred on more occasions than the 10 documented incidents. The child described the actions as very painful and stated that Sanchez never told Haygood to stop, even as the child begged for the pain to cease. Instead, Sanchez allegedly often held the child’s arm during the assaults, reportedly saying, “This is what doctors do.” Sanchez also reportedly stared off into the distance as the child cried in pain. When the child expressed discomfort with Haygood’s actions, Sanchez further told the child he was a doctor and it was his job to do things of that nature.

Records indicate Haygood diagnosed the child with ADHD and prescribed Adderall. The child reported that Sanchez administered maybe a few doses, if any, and instead emptied the pills into clear baggies. When asked, Sanchez allegedly told the child she was selling the pills to others due to a medication shortage and “to help” people who needed the medication.

An investigation into Sanchez’s alleged actions began in April after the child disclosed the abuse at Haygood’s office to adults.

Haygood previously faced a charge of practicing without a license and eight charges of sex crimes for assaulting patients during exams in 2007, 2016-19, and 2021. In September 2025, he accepted a plea deal in Judge Austin Reeve Jackson’s 114th Judicial District Court in Smith County, pleading guilty to two of the nine charges. The other seven charges were dropped in exchange for his plea.

Haygood was sentenced to eight years in prison but received 585 days of credit for time already served. As part of his plea, he is required to register as a sex offender in Texas. Prior to the suspension of his medical license and multiple arrests, Haygood operated his own private practice at 1304 Doctor’s Dr. in Tyler.

Sanchez remains in the Smith County Jail pending further legal proceedings.
