A Palestine man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal disturbance that occurred in Anderson County on Saturday. Kerrion Darrius Miller, 27, of Palestine, was taken into custody by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and subsequently booked into the Anderson County Jail. The charge stems from an incident where Eunious Nixon Fulford, 57, sustained a gunshot wound and later died, according to official reports from the sheriff's office.
The events unfolded after the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a disturbance in the 20600 block of FM 315. The initial report to authorities indicated that firearms were involved in the ongoing disturbance, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene in Anderson County to investigate the nature of the disturbance and to ensure public safety in the area.
Upon the arrival of sheriff’s deputies at the designated location in the 20600 block of FM 315, emergency medical services (EMS) personnel were also on site. Together, deputies and EMS responders began treating Eunious Nixon Fulford, 57, who had suffered a gunshot wound. The severity of Fulford’s injury necessitated immediate medical attention.
Following initial treatment at the scene in Anderson County, Fulford was transported by EMS to a hospital located in the nearby city of Athens. Despite the critical care provided by medical professionals both at the scene and during his transport, and later at the Athens hospital, Eunious Nixon Fulford succumbed to his injuries. He later died at the medical facility, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
Investigators from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office located Kerrion Darrius Miller at the scene of the disturbance in the 20600 block of FM 315. After an assessment of the situation and the information gathered, Miller was identified and arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. The 27-year-old Palestine resident was then transported to the Anderson County Jail.
At the jail, Kerrion Darrius Miller was formally processed and booked on a charge of murder. He remains in custody at the Anderson County Jail following his arrest on Saturday for his alleged involvement in the disturbance and the subsequent death of Eunious Nixon Fulford. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office continues its work on the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident that led to the murder charge against Miller.
