Nominations for the 2027 ETX View 40 Under Forty awards program are currently open, having begun on Monday, October 5, 2026. This marks the sixth annual iteration of the program, which seeks to recognize young, influential leaders throughout East Texas. The nomination phase will continue until October 25, 2026.
ETX View, described as a lifestyle magazine, presents these awards to honor young professionals who have "achieved success and excelled in their field of expertise before the age of 40." The program specifically invites East Texans to nominate individuals who demonstrate significant leadership and dedication both in their professional careers and through their community service efforts.
The 40 Under Forty awards program was first launched in 2021. It features 40 distinct categories of industry, allowing for broad recognition of talent and leadership across various sectors. The entire awards process is structured into three distinct phases: an initial nomination period, followed by a voting phase, and culminating in the announcement of the winners in February 2027.
During the ongoing nomination phase, community members are encouraged to submit the names of nominees who are under the age of 40 and are deemed deserving of this recognition in any of the 40 categories. Individuals may submit one nomination per day for each category. To ensure fairness and accuracy, each nominee's occupation, age, and geographic location will be verified before they can advance to the subsequent stages of the awards program. Nominations can be submitted online.
Following the close of nominations, the top three individuals from each of the 40 categories will proceed to the voting round. During this phase, residents of East Texas will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for the young professionals they consider most deserving within their respective categories. The voting period is scheduled to run from November 2 to November 22. Similar to the nomination process, individuals are permitted to cast one vote per day during this three-week window.
The culmination of the 40 Under Forty program will occur in February 2027. The 40 winners will be officially announced online and will be prominently featured within a special commemorative magazine published by ETX View. This dedicated edition of the magazine is set to be released on February 14, 2027. In addition to showcasing the winners, the magazine will also include photographs of the runners-up. Preparations for the magazine's content will begin in late December and early January, when the top three nominees will be notified and photographed for their inclusion.
