EAST TEXAS — A Southeast Texas family has brought forward a report of an unusual encounter in a regional national forest, claiming to have photographed a large, dark figure in the woods that they believe may be a Bigfoot carrying a deer, as Mix 93.1 – East Texas' #1 Hit Music Station – Tyler Pop Radio reported.

According to an account submitted on October 15 to the website Sasquatch Chronicles, the family regularly visits forested areas in East Texas to hunt for physical and audio evidence of the legendary creature. The submission describes an event during one of those frequent outings, though the filing does not specify the exact date or the specific national forest where the trip occurred.

The written account details how the family's oldest son, identified as Kayson, was walking along a trail alongside his grandmother to deploy an audio recording device. While walking through the woods, Kayson reported experiencing a sudden physical reaction, describing an uncomfortable sensation across the back of his neck accompanied by a sudden surge of fear and adrenaline.

Upon feeling the sensation, Kayson turned toward the dense trees and snapped a photograph of the surrounding forest. According to the submission, the resulting image revealed a large, dark figure standing among the trees. Immediately after taking the photo, Kayson fled the area, leaving his grandmother on the trail behind him.

After reviewing the image later, the family examined the digital file more closely to determine what had been captured on camera. They claim that upon closer inspection, the image appears to reveal distinct facial features on the shape, including an eye, a nose, a bridge, and a cheek.

Furthermore, the family's submission notes their belief that the dark figure was holding a deer. To inspect the photograph for additional details, the family created enhanced digital versions and converted the file into a negative format to analyze the shapes within the frame.

While the family's report has drawn attention among regional enthusiasts, there is no independent verification confirming the presence of an unidentified creature in the photograph, nor any verifiable evidence that an animal was being carried. Photographers and outdoor observers frequently note that images captured in dimly lit, heavily wooded environments can be exceptionally difficult to evaluate accurately. Natural elements such as tree branches, shifting forest shadows, and post-processing digital enhancements can easily alter normal surroundings into deceptive shapes.

Nevertheless, the report aligns with a long-standing tradition of unverified creature sightings throughout the region. The dense pine forests, secluded creeks, and vast tracts of undeveloped rural terrain across East Texas have historically provided a backdrop for local folklore and persistent Sasquatch stories spanning from Lufkin to Mount Pleasant.

For now, the photograph remains an unverified submission on the Sasquatch Chronicles platform. Neither the family nor external researchers have provided additional physical evidence from the trail to corroborate the account.
