Lindale, TX – The No. 2 Lindale Eagles defeated the Bullard Panthers 55-28 in a District 8-4A Division I football game on Friday at Eagle Stadium. The victory marked Lindale's Homecoming celebration and advanced the Eagles' season record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in district play. Bullard's record fell to 1-5 for the season and 0-3 in district.

Andre Foster and Hank Thurman each contributed two touchdowns to Lindale's commanding performance. Foster led the Eagles' rushing attack with 159 yards on 12 carries, in addition to his two scores. Quarterback David Lindig completed 10 of 15 passes for 140 yards and threw for three touchdowns.

Lindale established an early lead in the first quarter, with Hank Thurman scoring on a 48-yard reception from Lindig, followed by a 1-yard run, bringing the score to 14-0. The Eagles extended their lead to 21-0 before halftime when a player scored from the 1-yard line with 10:52 remaining in the second quarter. Bullard responded with 6:45 left in the half, as Gavin Skaggs caught a 20-yard pass from his brother, Micah Skaggs, putting the Panthers on the scoreboard at 21-7.

Lindale then scored three consecutive touchdowns to take a 42-7 lead into halftime. Foster broke through for a 53-yard run with 5:57 on the clock. Carter Hill caught an 8-yard reception from Lindig with 56 seconds remaining, and Reed Carnathan secured a 3-yard reception from Lindig just 8 seconds later, expanding the Eagles' advantage.

The Panthers opened the scoring in the third quarter when Tucker Stanback found the end zone from 27 yards, narrowing Lindale's lead to 42-14 with 10:30 left in the period. Lindale quickly added 13 more points, bringing their score to 55-14. Tanner Transier scored from the one-yard line at 7:52, and Cooper Wright contributed a touchdown from the three-yard line at 2:28.

In the fourth quarter, Bullard scored two final touchdowns. Micah Skaggs ran in a 1-yard touchdown with 10:26 remaining, and Gavin Skaggs added a 4-yard rushing touchdown at 4:04, bringing the final score to 55-28.

During the Homecoming festivities at Eagle Stadium, Morgan Myrick, who is also the band's Head Drum Major, was crowned Homecoming Queen. District 1 Congressman Nathaniel Moran, a Republican from Whitehouse, was present to participate in the pre-game coin toss.

Both the Lindale Eagles and the Bullard Panthers will have a bye next week. Lindale will return to play on October 16, traveling to Longview to face Pine Tree, who currently holds a 4-2 season record and a 3-0 district record. Bullard will host Chapel Hill on October 16. Both upcoming games are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. kickoffs.
