Katelyn Sepmoree, a 2009 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, was inducted into the Tyler ISD Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, September 11, 2026. The ceremony took place during halftime of the homecoming game between Tyler Legacy and Mesquite, held at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

Sepmoree was a two-time district medalist during her high school career in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, she finished as the runner-up at the UIL Class 5A State Golf Tournament. She also played a role in the Lady Raiders securing back-to-back district titles in 2008 and 2009.

Following her high school achievements, Sepmoree signed with the University of Texas. While with the Longhorns, she contributed to the team's victory at the 2011 Big 12 Championship. From 2010 to 2013, she was recognized on both the Texas Athletic Director Academic Honor Roll and the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, also lettering all four years. She earned All-Region honors in 2012 and was named All-Big 12 in 2013. Sepmoree participated in the NCAA National Tournament with the Longhorns in both 2012 and 2013.

As an amateur, Sepmoree continued to achieve significant results. In 2013, she finished in the top eight at the U.S. Women’s Amateur, which was held at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. The Tylerite was also a runner-up in the Texas Women’s Amateur and recognized as the low amateur at the Tennessee Women’s Open.

Her professional career included a second-place finish in the 2017 Firekeeper’s Hotel Classic on the Symetra Tour. She accumulated 10 top 10 career finishes on that Tour. In 2018, Sepmoree earned LPGA status and played in 14 events. Her other achievements include being the first female to win a section major in the NTPGA Section, the first female to earn a spot on the North Texas Levy Cup Team, and the first female to qualify from the North Texas PGA section for the PGA Player’s Professional Championship. She also participated in the 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Tyler Legacy girls golf coach John Taylor praised Sepmoree, stating she is a deserving choice for the Hall of Fame. Sepmoree expressed that joining such company truly means everything to her. She is the second female golfer to be inducted into the Tyler ISD Athletics Hall of Fame, joining Wanda Sowell Hendrix, a 1956 graduate of Tyler High.

Sepmoree, a former assistant professional at Willow Brook Country Club, currently provides golf lessons out of Corsicana Country Club. While she maintains close ties to golf, she also works in the business world. She stated, "I want to give back to the game that has given so much to me."
