Six area high school football teams, including Tyler Legacy, Lindale, Whitehouse, Jacksonville, Bullard, and Arp, will take the field this Friday, September 25, 2026, for Week 5 of the season. These matchups include key district games and non-district contests, with several teams looking to improve their standings.
Tyler Legacy (1-3 overall, 0-1 district) is set to face Mesquite Horn (0-4, 0-1) at Mesquite Memorial Stadium, located at 2411 West Scyene Road in Mesquite. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Red Raiders' offense has been led by quarterback Cason Gray Jr., who has recorded 362 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, and 265 rushing yards with 3 touchdowns. Running back Jaylin Miles has contributed 427 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns, along with 3 kickoff return touchdowns. Running back Bam White has added 167 yards and 3 touchdowns, while wide receiver D’Marian Malone has 135 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. Key defensive players include linebackers Keshawn Dotson (35 tackles, 1 sack) and Amir Gaines (26 tackles, 2 sacks), and defensive lineman Quinton Rogers (11 tackles, 4 sacks). Tyler Legacy is averaging 41.0 points per game but has allowed an average of 48.75 points. Mesquite Horn is averaging 28.25 points per game and allowing 56.75 points. Mesquite Horn quarterback Kai Furtch, a transfer, has accumulated over 200 yards in passing, rushing, and receiving this season. Horn is seeking its first victory since November 1, 2025. Lindale (4-0, 1-0) will travel to Lion Stadium, 700 Lion Street in Henderson, to play Henderson (2-2, 1-0) at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles' offense is spearheaded by quarterback David Lindig, with 693 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, alongside 140 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Hank Thurman has rushed for 688 yards and 6 touchdowns, including two games with over 200 rushing yards this season. Tight end and linebacker Reed Carnathan has been a two-way threat with 328 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns, 18 tackles, and 4 sacks. Lindale recorded its highest-scoring output of the season last week and is currently averaging 49.5 points per game. Henderson, after two initial losses, has won its last two games, averaging 48.0 points in those victories. Lindale has an 8-2 series advantage against Henderson since 2008 and has won the last six meetings, including a 42-21 win last season. Bullard will visit Lindale next week.
Whitehouse (2-2, 1-0) is scheduled to play Nacogdoches (1-3, 0-1) at Dragon Stadium, 4310 Appleby Sand Road in Nacogdoches, with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Wildcats quarterback Cooper Lepsis has thrown for 875 yards and 6 touchdowns, adding 366 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. Wide receiver and kicker Keaton Whittle leads the team with 363 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, also converting 4 of 4 field goal attempts. Running back JK Robbins has rushed for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns. On defense, Kadavion Pickens has 25 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. Whitehouse scored 55 points last week, a first since September 20, 2024. Nacogdoches is averaging 17 points per game. This marks the 23rd consecutive year these teams have met, with Whitehouse holding a 14-8 record against Nacogdoches since 2004. Nacogdoches won the last meeting 34-24 in 2023. Whitehouse will be on the road again next week against Greenville.
Jacksonville (2-2, 0-1) will face Chapel Hill (0-4, 0-1) at Bulldog Stadium, 13172 State Highway 64 East, Tyler, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Jacksonville has achieved two wins this season, a first since 2022, after a 1-29 record over the previous three seasons. Quarterbacks Trent Clater and Asher Bolton have combined for 486 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Running back Christian McGowan has rushed for 357 yards and 3 touchdowns, also adding 138 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Wide receiver Bubba Suarez-Mosley has 161 receiving yards. Chapel Hill's defense has allowed an average of 49.25 points per game. Linebacker Michael Jackson leads the Chapel Hill defense with 54 tackles. Chapel Hill has won both previous meetings against Jacksonville since 2004, including a 70-29 victory in 2023. Jacksonville will play at Kilgore next week.
Bullard (1-3, 0-1) will host Palestine (2-2, 1-0) at Panther Stadium, 1000 S. Houston Street, Bullard, with a 7:30 p.m. start. Bullard has dropped its last three games. Palestine started the season 2-0 but has since lost two straight. This will be the first contest between Bullard and Palestine since 2017, when Bullard secured a 41-20 win. Next week, Bullard will travel to Lindale.
Arp (3-0) will compete in a non-district game against Timpson (3-0) at John Herbert Eakin Stadium, 835 Bear Drive in Timpson, at 7 p.m. Arp quarterback Ty Langley has 345 passing yards and 4 touchdowns, along with 518 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns. Running back Tanner Hunt leads the ground game with 508 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, while Noah Beck has contributed 355 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. Linebackers Chrisden Ellis (37 tackles) and Hudson Orpineda (25 tackles) lead the defense.
