UT Health East Texas has introduced an expanded range of clinical services within The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine building. This modern facility now offers advanced outpatient imaging, specialized orthopedic, women’s health, and pulmonology clinics, alongside modern surgery suites, aiming to provide convenient access to a variety of specialized care for patients.

The second floor of the building is dedicated to the Women’s Health Center and Diagnostic Imaging. The Diagnostic Imaging services include advanced outpatient imaging, such as MRI, CT, and mammography. Specifically, cardiac CT with dual-source technology is available, delivering exceptional speed and clarity, even for patients with higher heart rates. Additional diagnostic services include X-ray and fluoroscopy, which serve both diagnostic and interventional needs. A speech therapy TIMS unit is also present, supporting real-time swallow studies to guide therapy.

Within this area, The Breast Center features four 3D mammography units for enhanced clarity and earlier detection, along with two breast ultrasound rooms for more targeted evaluation. Patients also have access to bone density testing to support long-term bone health. Adjacent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology includes specialized breast and cardiac imaging, providing high-resolution studies for precise diagnosis.

The Women’s Health Center itself brings together nine physicians and four advanced practice providers to offer comprehensive care for women at every age and stage. The center includes 28 spacious clinic rooms, four dedicated ultrasound rooms, and two fully equipped treatment rooms for in-office procedures. The team provides preventive care, advanced gynecologic treatment, and maternity services.

The third floor houses the UT Health East Texas Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute. This institute integrates orthopedics, sports medicine, and physical therapy and rehabilitation into one coordinated care team. The new space features 36 exam rooms, three X-ray suites, and two casting rooms, allowing patients to be evaluated and treated efficiently in one location. Fellowship-trained specialists provide both surgical and nonsurgical solutions, supported by on-site EMG and nerve testing for accurate diagnosis. The institute emphasizes convenience, offering same-day or next-day appointments and streamlined imaging access, fostering close collaboration with referring providers.

Also located within the facility is the Pulmonary Institute, which consolidates nine physicians and four advanced practice providers from across the regional network into a single, state-of-the-art center. The institute features 33 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, and six pulmonary function testing rooms, all designed to minimize scheduling delays. Further enhancing its capabilities, a cardiopulmonary exercise testing room is available for comprehensive heart-lung assessment, along with an on-site X-ray room to support continuity of care. This unified team and its advanced diagnostic capabilities aim to elevate pulmonary care in East Texas, helping patients with coordinated, compassionate support.

UT Health East Texas states that by bringing these services together under one roof, the institution is strengthening its commitment to delivering “exceptional, patient-centered care.” The expansion also supports medical education and enhances well-being throughout East Texas, aiming to consolidate specialty care, making it more accessible and efficient for residents across the region.
