The musical tells the story of high school senior Evan Hansen, whose life is profoundly altered when a letter, never intended for public viewing, draws him into a grieving family's loss. This tragic circumstance unexpectedly provides Evan with a chance to belong, navigating complicated truths that stem from a simple lie. The production explores themes of grief, authenticity, and the universal struggle for connection in an era defined by instant connectivity alongside profound isolation.

“Dear Evan Hansen” earned a Tony Award during its six-year run on Broadway, becoming a significant success with theatre audiences. The TJC Theatre production features Jacob Davis as director, with Charles Praytor handling musical direction. Nathaniel Franklin of Troup, TX, serves as the stage manager, and Kenedee Fischer of Forney, TX, is the director’s assistant. The musical's music and lyrics were created by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, with the book by Steven Levenson. The TJC presentation is made possible through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
